He was born September 19, 1940 in Ste. Genevieve

Married to Linda B. (Van Doren) Basler on April 22, 1988

Son - Randy G. (Mandy) Basler, Saint Louis

Daughter - Laurie (Eric) Perkins, Macomb, Illinois

Daughter-in-Law - Stacey Zoellner, Fishers, Indiana

Brother - William H. Basler Jr., Sainte Genevieve

Grandchildren: Zachary (Emily) Basler, Corinne (Mike) Mayfield, Derek (Vicki) Basler, Alyssa (Eric Ramos) Basler, Erin Perkins, Nolan Basler, Nate Basler and Kelsey Zoellner

Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home Sainte Genevieve Friday, November 24, 2017 from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 8 till 10 a.m.

Service will be at Basler Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10 a.m.

The Clergy will be Msgr. Jeffrey Knight

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery.

Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post 2210

He was a member of American Legion Post 150, Weingarten Jaycees, Knight of Columbus No. 1037, he had a 33 year career at Mississippi Lime Company and was a member of the Quarry Workers Union Local 829. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He spent much of his life working with horses and was affectionately known as "Cowboy" to many. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Joe had a laugh that could light up the room and he will be greatly missed.
