SGHS Senior Citizens Dinner held

STE. GENEVIEVE – More than 275 senior citizens gathered in the Ste. Genevieve High School cafeteria Thursday for the annual Senior Citizen’s Christmas Dinner.

The dinner was planned and sponsored by Ste. Genevieve High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

FBLA was assisted by volunteers from the National Honor Society and volunteers from the Student Council.

"The Ste. Genevieve R-II Food Services Staff prepared a delicious meal," a school official stated.

Donations from 62 local businesses were used to help pay for the cost of the meal and to provide raffle prizes.

Thanks to their generosity, more than 100 raffle prizes were given out.

A representative from Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital was on hand with free items for participants as well.

"The students and senior citizens had a merry evening with lots of food and fun," the school official commented.
