Valle announces homecoming royalty

STE. GENEVIEVE -- It was a quiet Thursday, August 23rd until students at Valle Catholic High School were summoned to the gym at 2:30 p.m. for a short assembly. The student council was ready to announce the 2012 Homecoming Royalty.

Jack Rozier was the first to the microphone. He began with a brief introduction of the man selected to be grand marshal.

Frank Kirchmer of Prepcasts Ste. Genevieve came forward and stood before the students surprised and shocked. He told the student body that this was truly an honor to have been chosen as the 2012 Grand Marshal. Students stood and applauded with gratitude. Frank Kirchmer has been broadcasting sports in the Ste. Genevieve community for over 25 years including a number of Valle Catholic's state championships.

Student council officers then announced the 2012 royalty as follows:

Freshmen: Escort - Garrett Jaegers son of Gina and Mike Jaegers, Attendant: Sally Heil, daughter of Kelly and Jeff Heil;

Sophomore: Escort - Andy Grieshaber son of Denise and Robert Grieshaber, Attendant: Kaci Figge daughter of Debra and Kevin Figge;

Juniors: Escort - Nick Bader son of Mary Kay and Clay Bader; Attendant: Courtney Friedman - daughter of Tania and Michael Friedman;

Miss Valle - Gretchen Koller daughter of Bernadine and Thomas Koller; Chief Touchdown - Nick Klein son of Stephanie and Eric Coleman; Queen - Whitley Bieser daughter of Diahann and Steve Bieser;

Senior: Escort - Trevor Klump son of Shirley and David Klump and Attendant - Kylie Meyer daughter of Brenda and Doug Meyer.

The Valle homecoming pep rally will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 19th.

The Valle homecoming parade will be Friday afternoon September 21st at 4:30 p.m. It will be seen live on Ste. Genevieve Community Access Television’s Channel 98 and online at

The Valle Homecoming game with the Warriors against the Grandview Eagles will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday at Father John Dempsey Field. Hear the game live on B-93one FM with Brad Palmer calling the action. The coach’s interview show starts with 6 p.m. with the pre-game and play by play to following.

The homecoming game may also be recorded for later cablecast on Ste. Genevieve Community Access Television, subject to availability of volunteers.

The Homecoming Mass will be Saturday, September 22nd at 5 p.m. at the Church of Ste. Genevieve.
