Flieg’s are selected as Missouri State Fair Farm Family
SEDALIA -- Paul and Mickey Flieg and their children, Dennis and Jessica, of Ste. Genevieve were among the 107 families honored of Missouri’s 114 counties during the Missouri State Fair’s Farm Family Day, August 15.
The Flieg’s were selected as the Ste. Genevieve County Missouri State Fair Farm Family by the Ste. Genevieve County Extension Council and local Farm Bureau.
Each year the fair sets aside a day to recognize farm families from across the state who are active in their community, involved in agricultural activities and who participate in local outreach and extension educational programs such as 4-H and FFA.
The Flieg’s operate a 420-acre second generation farm consisting of row crop, pasture and beef cattle. Paul is a full time farmer and Mickey works at the local MFA Agri Service store in Ste. Genevieve. Paul is involved in the local Farm Bureau Board, MFA Board, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
The annual event was sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Department of Agriculture, Missouri State Fair, University of Missouri Extension and the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
