Robert ‘Bob’ T. Steffens

Robert "Bob" T. Steffens, 78, of Farrar, died October 20, 2017 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 20, 1939 in Farrar, MO, the son of Theodor and Hilda (Versemann) Steffens. He and Norma Jean Meyerhoff were married on August 17, 1963. She survives in Farrar, MO.

He had been a dairy farmer, worked for East Perry Lumber in Frohna, a carpenter with Bock Construction and retired from Gilster Mary-Lee in McBride, MO. He loved woodworking, camping and fishing. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, MO.

Other survivors include three children, Darrel (Donna) Steffens of Farrar, Debra (Scott) Brown of Shawneetown, Dawn (Greg) Hadler of Crosstown; one sister and brother, Opal Mahnken and Cletus (Ruby) Steffens all of Farrar; and 6 grandchildren, Tiffany (Justin) Masters, Brittany Steffens, Brooke Schwettman, Amber Schwettman, Kari (Brian) Buerck, and Shawn (Morgan) Hadler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, LeeRoy Steffens and one sister, Elaine Hadler Davis.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, October 25 from 6:30 to 8:00 am. He will then be taken to Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar for service at 10:00 am with Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial in Church Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar or Saxony Lutheran High School.
