Edward A. Wengert Jr.

Edward A. Wengert Jr, 92, of Brewer, died October 15, 2017 in Perryville.

He was born June 7, 1925 in St. Louis, son of Edward August and Mary Leona (Siebert) Wengert Sr. He and Adele Vivian Labuary were married on May 7, 1949. She survives in Brewer.

Edward was a farmer and retired from Mississippi Lime and lastly retired from Rozier’s True Value at age of 91.He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, American Legion Post 133, V.F. W. Post 4282., American Legion Honor Guard and former Commander of the American Legion and V.F.W. He was an US Army WW II Veteran.

Survivors include three sons and three daughters, Terry Wengert, Gail (Joel) Cobell and Arleen Barnett all of Brewer, Ronnie (Bobbie) Wengert of Perryville, Kevin (Cindy) Wengert of Brewer and Carla (David) Braeuner of Altenburg, two brothers and four sisters, Glen Rose Renaud of Perryville, James (Judy) Wengert of Brewer, Shirley Wilson of Ste. Genevieve, Charles "Bill" (Norma) Wengert, Betty Brewer and Joyce (Jim) Regelsperger all of Perryville, one brother-in-law, Cullen Mattingly of Perryville, sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Novona "Sis" Mattingly and three brothers-in-law, Leroy Wilson, Elmer Renaud and Charles Brewer.

Visitation will be held at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer on Wednesday, October 18 from 4 – 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 6:30 am until time of Mass at the church at 11:00 am with Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Rosary Thursday at 9:30 am.

Burial in the church cemetery with military graveside provided by American Legion Post 133.

Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or Diabetes Association.
