A funeral will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 for 91-year-old Rita A. Kiefer of Perryville, who died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Perryville.

She was born November 14, 1920 in Belgique, the daughter of John L’Hote and Lillian Steyns L’Hote who both preceded her in death.

She married Leroy Giesler June 10, 1936 . He preceded her in death on April 22, 1977.

She married Harvey "Tud" Kiefer on December 27, 1982. He preceded her death on March 18, 2002.

She is survived by two sons: Donald Giesler of Perryville and Daryl Giesler of Ste. Genevieve; a daughter: Janice Proctor of Perryville; 20 grandchildren, 18 step grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren

She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers and five sisters.

She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Ladies of Charity, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers at St. Marys.

She worked as a clerk.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 and 6:30-10:50 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 91-year-old Rita A. Kiefer of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at St. Mary.
