A funeral will be held Saturday, December 24, 2011 for 40-year-old Scott Elder of Perryville who died today, December 22, 2011 at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born November 29, 1971 in Perryville the son of Tom and Juanita (Cissell) Elder who survive in Perryville.

He married Penny Buerck on October 31, 1992. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by a son: Zachary Elder of the home in Perryville; a daughter: Hannah Elder of the home in Perryville, two brothers: Mark (Tori) Elder and Danny (Laura) Elder, both of Perryville; two sisters: Kim (Roy) Richardet and and Jennifer (Shane) Wilson, both of Perryville; and his maternal grandmother: Merle Cissell of Perryville.

He was a salesman for the Buchheits store in Jackson.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Perry County Sportsman Club, Perryville Bass Casters and former board member and coach of the Perryville Football League.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 24^th, 2011 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 40-year-old Scott Elder of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Revs. Oscar Lukefahr and James Ward will concelebrate.

Memorials are preferred to family use.
