A funeral will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 for 92-year-old Lutrudis C. Schemel of Biehle who died December 16, 2011 at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born January 17, 1919 in Apple Creek, the daughter of August and Cordula (Welker) Wibbenmeyer who both preceded her in death.

She married John S. Schemel June 28, 1952. He preceded her in death July 16, 1991.

She is survived by three sons: Michael (Cathy) Schemel of Jackson and Carl (Janet) Schemel and Dale (Debbie) Schemel, both of Perryville; three daughters: Kathy Cowan of Biehle, Gera (Donnie) LeGrand of Benton and Denise (Richard) Pudlo of Fenton; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two granddaughters: Stacey Schemel and Jenna Pudlo; three sisters; five brothers and a son-in-law, Kevin Cowan.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality in Biehle.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 and 6:30-9:20 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. Monday and a rosary at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 92-year-old Lutrudis C. Schemel of Biehle will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. The Rev. Tony Dattilo will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
