A funeral will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 for 82-year-old Leona K. French of Perryville who died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 19, 1929 in Yount, the daughter of Everett W. and Sina K. (Hendrix) Rutherford.

She married Clovis M. French on August 10, 1946. He survives in Perryville.

She is also survived by two sons: Roger C. (Brenda) French of Perryville and Ron C. (Mimi) French of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters: Patricia Cissell and Sheila K. (Gerry) Duvall, both of Perryville; a sister: Carol Welland of Elkhart, Indiana; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Edgar and Elvie Rutherford.

She was a home maker.

She was a member of Whitewater Christian Church.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, December 16 and 6:30-9 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at the Whitewater Christian Church near Yount.

A funeral for 82-year-old Leona K. French of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at the Whitewater Christian Church near Yount. Ray White will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Whitewater Christian Church or National Kidney Foundation.
