Hilmer Kaufmann

A funeral will be held Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 for 78-year-old Hilmer George Kaufmann of Altenburg, who died Friday, December 23rd, 2011 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

He was born December 7th, 1933 in Altenburg, the son of Alolph and Ada (Weinhold) Kaufmann. They preceded him in death.

He married Verna Koenig April 22nd, 1961. She survives in Altenburg.

Other survivors include three daughters, Emily (Doug) Scheper of Jackson, MO, Kathleen (Robert) Mills of Arkansas, Christine (Jason) Spanley of Jackson, MO; one son, Doyle (Juanita) Kaufmann of Altenburg; one brother, Eugene (Carol) Kaufmann of St. Louis; two sisters, Dorothy (Roland) Wachter, Pauline (Eugene) Roth all of St. Louis; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; an infant daughter; and two brothers, Theobald and Herbert "Butch" Kaufmann.

Mr. Kaufmann had been a dairy farmer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg and Mid-America Dairymen.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 26th, and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 27th at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

A funeral for Hilmer George Kaufmann of Altenburg will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. The Rev. Steven Dressler will officiate.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
