Tommie Alan ‘Tom" Durham

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 for 61-year-old Tommie Alan "Tom" Durham of Versailles, formerly of Perryville, who died Monday, October 31st, 2011 at his home.

He was born September 4, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of James D. Durham and Cora Mae Leggett Durham, who both preceded him in death.

He married Julie Lynn Ratcliff on June 22, 2011 in Versailles. She survives in Versailles.

He is also survived by a daughter: Abbigail Durham of Versailles; two sons: Christopher Summers of Wichita, Kansas and Matt Baker of Springfield; three stepsons: Jeremiah Koontz of Hallsville, and James Koontz and Ronnie Koontz, both of Versailles; two grandchildren: Willow Baker and Harper Baker; three step grandchildren: Alex Koontz, Ella Koontz and Logan Lutgen Koontz; four sisters: Gerogia Lee Hafer of Jacksonville, Florida, Nelda Storandt of Jacksonville, Florida, Beeley Lynn Shrowder of Middleburg, Florida and Deborah Ann Jaquess of Fowler Mound, Texas; three brothers: James Durham of Hutto, Texas, Randy Durham of Saucier, Mississippi and Sammy Durham of Beaufort, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; many friends and a large "band" family.

He was also preceded in death by five siblings: Bobbie Gene Durham, J. Dean Durham, Charles Dwayne Durham, Jo Durham Falls, and Sandra Sue Durham

He was a United States Air Force veteran.

He was the band teacher for Morgan County R II School District.

He was the former band director for St. Vincent de Paul Catholic High School in Perryville. He loved music and enjoyed teaching young people the guitar. He was an inspiration to so many young lives.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Versailles.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 5 p.m. at the Morgan County R II High School Commons.

A Celebration of Tom's life will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
