Lillian D. Palisch

A funeral will be held Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 for 92-year-old Lillian D. Palisch of Altenburg, who died November 20, 2011 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born October 12, 1919 in Oak Ridge, the daughter of Henry and Frieda (Ludwig) Puchbauer who both preceded her in death.

She married Leo Palisch on June 26, 1938. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1976.

She is survived by two daughters: Carol Bodenschatz Boehme of Jackson and Dorothy "Dotty" Palisch of Maryland Heights; a brother: Carl Puchbauer; three grandchildren: Craig Allen, Landon Bodenschatz and Terri Royer; seven great grandchildren; one great step grandchild; three nieces; five nephews; two sisters-in-law; and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

She was baptized Oct. 26, 1919, and confirmed March 20, 1932.

She graduated from Oak Ridge High School and attended Normal Teacher's College at Cape Girardeau. She taught elementary school at Oak Ridge.

She was active as a mother, 4-H leader, Sunday School Teacher, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, choir, Golden Agers Club, and exercise club in Altenburg.

After the passing of her husband, she became a farm operator. She loved farming, raising her flowers, and reading especially about health issues. She knew how to live life through hard work, exercise, good eating habits, and daily prayer. She will be missed.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 and 6:30-8 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

A funeral for 92-year-old Lillian D. Palisch of Altenburg will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg. The Revs. Jonathan Stites and Charles Weber will co-officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.
