Joseph R. O’Steen Jr.

A funeral will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 for 80-year-old Joseph R. O'Steen Jr. of Perryville, who died October 22, 2011 at the Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.

He was born January 6, 1931 in Waycross, Georgia son of Joseph R. and Lizzie Mae (Courson) O'Steen who both preceded him in death.

He married Patricia Rumary on June 9, 1956. She survives in Perryville.

He is also survived by two daughters: Peggy O'Steen and Amy (Daniel) Vinson both of Perryville; a son: Casey (Mindy) O'Steen of Floristell, a sister: Maureen Pruitt of the state of Georgia and six grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Hansel O'Steen.

He was an electronic technician for the U.S. Government.

He was a member of Brazeau Presbyterian Church, V.F.W. Post 4282, Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, veteran of the Korean Conflict, Boy Scoutmaster and he enjoyed wood carving.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 28th at the Young & Sons Funeral Home and 8-10 a.m. Saturday, October 29 at the Brazeau Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service for 80-year-old Joseph R. O'Steen Jr. of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 29 at the Brazeau Presbyterian Church on Saturday. The Rev. Bruce Owens will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside service provided by V.F.W. Post 4282 and the Missouri Honors Team.

Memorials are preferred to Boy Scout Troop 754.
