A funeral will be held Thursday, July 7^th, 2011 for 89-year-old Edna A. Meier of Perryville, who died July 4, 2011 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born March 12, 1922 in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of August E. and Johanna Pauline (Macke) Biester who both preceded her in death.

She married Raymond E. Meier on December 12, 1965. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2002.

Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Ruby Kuntze and Helen Meier.

She had worked for International Shoe Company and was a home maker.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar and she loved flowers and gardening.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6^th and 6:30-8 a.m. Thursday, July 7 at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 89-year-old Edna Meier of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar. The Rev. Roger Abernathy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to United in Christ Lutheran School or Salem Lutheran Church.
