A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 for 71-year-old Joseph Leroy Thomure of Perryville who died June 18, 2011 at his residence.

He was born March 2, 1940 in Perryville the son of Hershal and Bertha (Tucker) Thomure.

He married Dorothy Gipson-Brake on March 4, 1978. She survives in Perryville.

He is survived by two sons; Harold (Lisa) Brake of Chester and Joseph Brake of Perryville; two daughters: Sheila Cole of Ste. Genevieve and Alta (Marty) Miller of Perryville; two brothers; David (Brenda) Thomure and Harold (Nova) Thomure both of Perryville; 12 grandchildren; Erica, Jessica, Jacob, Brittney, Johnathon, Andrew, Derick, Breanna, Garrett, Katlin, Megan and Lane; two step grandchildren: Nicole and Nathan; four great grandchildren: Jordan, Ethan, Nevaeh and Blake; and two step great grandchildren: Zoey and Zachery.

He was also preceded in death by a step grandson: Brett LaRose and a granddaughter: Heaven Lee Walsh.

He Mr. Thomure was a mill inspector for Perry County Stave.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 and 6:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday. A rosary will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 71-year-old Joseph Leroy Thomure of Perryville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred for family use.
