A funeral will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 for 57-year-old Janet M. Shropshire of Bloomsdale, who died June 4, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 12, 1954 in Bakersfield, California, the daughter of the Boyd and Pearl (Lewis) Shropshire and stepfather Harold Lewis who all preceded her in death.

She is survived by a special friend: Michael Oshea of Bloomsdale; a son: Michael (Jaclyn) Wright; a daughter: Amanda (Brian) Schumer, all of Perryville; a former spouse: Carl Wright of Bloomsdale; six grandchildren: Emily Schumer, Erin Schumer, Abigail Schumer, Hannah Schumer, Ryan Wright, and McKenzie Lawrence and two sisters: Mary (Richard) Harrison of McMinnville, Oregon and Dorothy Shropshire of Ventura, California.

She was also preceded in death by a son: Carl Wright II; a brother: Jimmy Shropshire and a grandchild: Cameron Wright.

She was a retired telephone operator for AT & T.

She loved bingo, going to the casino, computers, shopping, was a Cardinals fan and adored her miniature pinscher: Jasimine.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 9 and 8-10 a.m. Friday, June 10 at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 57-year-old Janet Shropshire will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rev. Danny Ross will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Potosi.

Donations may be made towards funeral expenses.
