A funeral will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011 for 95-year-old Hubert Joseph Taylor of Perryville, who died June 5, 2011 at his home in Perry County.

He was born February 12, 1916 at Perry County, the son of John Taylor and Ora E. Johnson Taylor who both preceded him in death.

He married Helen Mary Christisen on September 24, 1940 in Sereno. She preceded him in death on April 27, 1999.

He is survived by a son: Wayne Taylor of Perryville, six daughters: Mary Jane (Larry) Brotherton of Marquand, Joan (Ron) Gebhardt of Perryville, Nancy (Richard) Wilfong of Cedar Hill, Diana (Eddie) Yamnitz of Patton, Janice (Ken) Schnurbusch of O’Fallon and Sharon Shamin of St. Louis; two brothers: Clyde Taylor and Eugene Taylor both of Perryville, 27 grandchildren, 57 greatgrandchildren and 16 great greatgrandchildren

He was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters

He was a farmer. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 and 6:30 to 10:50 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 95-year-old Hubert Joseph Taylor of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul School Endowment Fund.
