Dorothy Jane Oberndorfer

A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 for 80-year-old Dorothy Jane Oberndorfer of St. Louis, who died Sunday, May 8th, 2011 at her residence.

She was born October 17th, 1930 in Old Appleton, the daughter of Oscar and Helen (Meyer) Dambach. They preceded her in death.

She married Marvin Oberndorfer. He survives in St. Louis.

She was a cherished mother and mother-in-law of Roy (Diane) Oberndorfer, Roger Oberndorfer, Terry Oberndorfer (Michelle Appal), all of St. Louis and David Oberndornfer (Gloria Descheda) of O'Fallon, MO.

She was a loving grandmother of Roy (Kayleigh) Oberndorfer, Jr., Brandon Oberndorfer, Tyler Sills and Lauren Sills; a deargGreat-grandmother of Christien Oberndorfer; a darling sister to Lillian Brune, Mary Heartling and Frances Krass, and a dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, godmother, cousin and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by parents, two sisters; Leona Huber, Florence Drum, and two brothers; Elliot and Ralph Dambach.

Dorothy worked at DePaul Hospital before retiring in 1997 and volunteered at St. Matthew Lutheran Church for many years.

Dorothy was a compassionate and loving woman and she will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10th, and from 6:30-8:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 11th at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

A funeral for Dorothy Jane Oberndorfer will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. The Rev. Rod Benkendorf will officiate.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Heartland Hospice, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure or Concordia Lutheran Church.
