Wallace M. Berkbigler of Perryville, MO. died March 14, 2011 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. He was 83.

He was born in Perry County, MO on September 26, 1927 son of the late Simon J. and Louisa (Geringer) Berkbigler.

He and Vera M. Weinrich were married on August 21, 1948. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2003.

He is survived by one son; Glenn (Betty) Berkbigler of Perryville, one sister; Mary Ella (Robert) Kueker of Evansville, IL., two grandchildren; Laura Berkbigler and Sarah (Luke) Miget of Cape Girardeau and one great grandson Matthew Miget.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother; Hubert Berkbigler.

Mr. Berkbigler was a retired maintenance worker from International Shoe Company and Solar Press. He was also a livestock farmer. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland and was an Army Veteran of WW II.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 16 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm with a Catholic Wake at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 6:30 - 9:15 am with a rosary at 8:30 am.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland at 10:00 am with Rev. Robert Brockland officiating.

Burial in the Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Service provided by the American Legion & Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred for Masses or St. Joseph Highland Cemetery Association.
