A private funeral was held for 79-year-old Merlin Russell Michaud of Perryville who died March 17, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 21, 1931 in Perry County, the son of the Charles William and Henrietta M. (Millfelt) Michaud who both preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter: Lisa (Douglas) Pfeiffer of Perryville; a brother: Harold (Phyllis) Michaud of Perryville and a sister Helen Triller of Ballwin.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Marie Ottanna Lawrence and Lorraine Lueders and three brothers: Peter Valle, John Harvey and Carroll Michaud.

He was retired from setting piers for bridges.

He was a member of the Catholic faith.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of American Legion Post 133

Memorials are preferred to American Heart Association.
