Francis and Engler thanked the governor for responding quickly to the severe weather by dispatching relief teams and resources to assist those who were affected.
Last night Governor Greitens deployed a strike team including SEMA, the Department of Public Safety, Canine Search and Rescue teams and the Highway Patrol to provide resources in the community. Currently over 1,100 citizens are without power and power may not be restored quickly.
"We would like to thank Governor Greitens for responding quickly to this tragedy in our districts. Our thoughts and prayers are with our constituents, friends, neighbors and family in Perryville," said Francis and Engler. "We will be working closely with Governor Greitens to assist with the needs of our community."
Francis and Engler said they plan to be in the district to help their constituents, friends and family members with the recovery effort.
