New app brings sheriff’s office to your smart phone

PERRYVILLE -- Perry County Sheriff Gary J. Schaaf announced today that his office has launched a smart phone app that allows the office to communicate more effectively with the community. The Perry County Sheriff's Office app is a free download for users and is available for users of Android operating systems.

Iphone users will be able to use this service in the very near future.

Users of this app will have access to real-time detention/jail information, plus a number of other items of interest, such as warrants, most wanted, news, an office directory and VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) integration.

"It's a work in progress" said Perry County Sheriff Gary J. Schaaf, "and Iphone users should be on-board any day now. In addition they are still working out some of the picture bugs, but the site is up and running at this time and I encourage everyone to check it out."

"We know that more and more people are getting the information they need from their smart phones" said Sheriff Schaaf, "and we are using the latest communication technology to keep the public informed."

To get to the site users will need to go to "MOPerrySD" and download the app. It is free to download. And it does not cost the county anything to have this service either.
