Perryville Airport Fly-In, Saturday, May 20

Take a ride in a Huey Helicopter or B-25

PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Regional Airport announces its annual fly-in Saturday, May 20.

Area pilots from Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, and from further afar will congregate to share their love of flying with the public of our area and experience this great aviation asset in our community.

All types of aircraft will be in attendance, airplanes, helicopters, gyroplanes, and model airplanes.  The event is free and all the public is invited.  There will be activities for the kids, including the popular paper airplane contest that was a wild sensation at last year’s event.  A variety of lunch favorites will be available, and attendance prize drawings for all attendees.

Attendance prizes include chances for a free helicopter ride during the event in a Robinson R22 Helicopter provided by Cape Copters from Cape Girardeau, drawings for gyroplane rides, as well.   Also, drawings for visiting pilots to win free fuel for their aircraft.

This year there are very special attractions:  the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is offering WWII Bomber B-25 rides.  (To reserve a B-25ride, visit https://cafmo.square.site)

Also, the local Army Aviation Heritage Foundation (AAHF) will be offering Vietnam era Huey and Cobra Helicopter rides.  (To schedule a Huey or Cobra ride visit https://armyav.org/shop/).  Tickets for all rides will be available at the event also.

All flights are planned to at least fly over the Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial in Perryville.   This would be an excellent gift for your family veterans.

Rain Date for the event will be the following Sunday, May 21
