Rose C. Basler funeral notice She was born on Friday, March 24, 1916, in New Madrid, the daughter of Paul Ritter and Lena (Schmidt) Ritter, who both preceded her in death. She married Arthur W. Basler on February 4th, 1936. He survives in Ste. Genevieve. She is also survived by three sons and two daughters in law: Lester Basler of White Settlement, Texas, Donald and Helen Basler of Fredericktown, and Mike and Alice Basler of Sainte Genevieve; two daughters and sons in law: Janet and Joe Siebert of Sainte Genevieve and Brenda and Tom Resinger of Sainte Genevieve; a sister: Odile Kern of Sainte Genevieve; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Shirley Naeger and Helena Basler, a daughter in law: Donna Basler; a sister: Dora Donze; a brother: Leo Ritter and two brothers in law: Henry Kern and Raymond Donze A private funeral service will be held for 93-year-old Rose C. Basler of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Dennis Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery, in Ste. Genevieve. Memorials may be made to Ste. Bernard K. Schram He was born Friday, August 16, 1918, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of Herbert Schram and Rose (Abrams) Schram who both preceded him in death. He married Vion Papin on July 23rd, 1946. She preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters: Ernestine Schram of Shreveport, Louisiana and Harriet Fisher of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Margaret Jean Myers She was born June 26, 1929 in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Emmitt Harvey Biri and Sarah Elizabeth (Reeder) (Biri) Yates who both preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons: Darrell J. Biri and Donald R. (Sony) Myers; two daughters: Linda (Ronald) Schumer and Kathy Myers; a sister Alice Schnurbusch, all of Perryville; 10 grand children, four step-grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and a son: Lee Myers. She had worked at the International Shoe factory and was a member of Perryville Pentecostal Church. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Dolphine ‘Dot’ Thompson She married Gilbert Thompson December 10, 1932. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1996. She is survived by four sons and two daughters: Ina Mae Ramito of Phoenix, Arizona, Norval (Sharon) Thompson of Minnith, Lendell (Janet) Thompson of Minnith, Floyd (Sharon) Thompson of Perryville, Joyce (Bernie) Giesler of Ste. Genevieve, Larry (Mary) Thompson of Minnith, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary and the Women’s Missionary Union. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, September 20th and 6:30-8 a.m. Monday, September 21st at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A funeral for 96-year-old Dolphine “Dot” Thompson of St. Mary will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 21st, 2009 at the Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary with the Rev. Irvin Brooks officiating. Anna Mae (Schilley) Drury A funeral will be held Monday, September 21st, 2009 for 93-year-old Anna Mae (Schilley) Drury of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Ste. Genevieve who died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Homewood Assisted Living in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born February 23, 1916, in Sainte Genevieve, the daughter of Meinrad Schilley and Ellen (Morice) Schilley who both preceded her in death. She married Merwin E. "Buck" Drury on September 28th, 1943. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons: James "Butch" Drury of Chicago, Illinois and Mark (Sarah) Drury of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters: Jane Drury of Nashville, Tennessee and Lynne Drury of Nashville, Tennessee; and two grandchildren: Caroline and Kate She was also preceded in death by a sister: Rosanna Herzog. She was a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary, and a member of Begin Again (A Program for the Widowed), the Ste. Mercedes (Donze) Weiler She was born January 10, 1923, in Weingarten, the daughter of Albert Donze and Emma (Burle) Donze, who both preceded her in death. She married Martin E. Weiler on September 16th, 1941. He preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons: Gerald "Hoot Owl" (Georgia) Weiler, James "Jimbo" (June) Weiler, Daniel "Chico" (Margie) Weiler, and Robert (Patricia) Weiler all of Sainte Genevieve; two daughters: Kathleen (Gerald) Huffman of Perryville and Mary Ellen (Bob) Schwent of Sainte Genevieve and a brother: Bernard "Nick" Donze of Weingarten. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren She was also preceded in death by a son: Gary Weiler; two brothers: Wilson Donze and Tony Donze; a sister: Irene Donze and two grandchildren. Nelson Henry Vessell funeral notice He was born September 15th, 1934 in Ste. Genevieve, son of Alfred and Ada Drury Vessell, who both preceded him in death. He married Kathleen A. Kertz on August 2nd, 1980. She survives. He is also survived by eight children: Michael (Cathi) Vessell of Chesterfield, Robert Vessell of St. Mary, Randy (Jari) Vessell of Ste. Genevieve, Kathy Lynn (Toby) Pechanec of Houston, Texas, Joseph (Cindy) Vessell of Ste. Genevieve, Renee (Bill) Fisher of Hannibal, Stephen Vessell of Hannibal and Lynn (Tim) Windmeyer of Boone, North Carolina; a brother, Carl (Patti) Vessell of Bonne Terre; three sisters: Darlene (Don) Hoog of Ste. Genevieve, Mary Ann (James) Caudle of Bonne Terre and Tarey (Bill) Hoffman of Ellisville; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Allen Vessell. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 30 years in agriculture sales. In his retirement he drove a truck for Shrakey Transportation for five years and later worked as a dispatcher for Sharkey's and until recently he was still driving for the company a couple days each week, He loved gardening, fishing, camping and dancing with his wife. He most enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 and Holy Family Church. At Holy Family Church, he was a Eucharistic minister and helped with numerous fund raisers at the church throughout the years. He was 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 907 of Hannibal. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. today, Friday, August 7th, 2009 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. A funeral mass for 74-year-old Nelson Henry Vessell of Hannibal will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Revs. Mike Quinn and Gregory Klump will officiate. Burial with full military rites will follow at the Valle Spring Cemetery.
