Lloyd "Whitey" Huey
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016 for 97 year old Lloyd "Whitey" Huey of Chester, IL who died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home in Chester, IL.
Whitey was born September 29, 1919 in Modoc, IL, the son of John and Cora (Bruns) Huey. He married Iva Mifflin on January 20, 1943 in Perryville, MO and she preceded him in death on June 20, 1985.
Whitey was a retired Chester police officer, a member of VFW Post #3553 and American Legion Post #487. He was also a member of Eagles Club #3252, a Master Mason with Masonic Lodge #72, a member of the Elks Lodge #1629 and the Randolph County Police Association. Whitey was an Army Veteran and served during WWII.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Sandy) Huey of St. Charles, MO, Patrick (Crystal) Huey of St. Peters, MO and Richard (Teresa) Huey of Chester, IL. One daughter in law, Nancy Huey of Forestell, MO. Friend and companion, Doris Sauerhage of Chester, IL. 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son – Lloyd Steven Huey and one brother, Floyd Huey.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm and Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 7:30am to 11am at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
A Masonic Funeral Service for 97 year old Lloyd "Whitey" Huey will be held at 11am Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester with Don Berry officiating.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Masonic Lodge #72.
