A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 for 85 year old Dorothy Maes of Chester, IL who died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL.
Dorothy was born October 18, 1930 in Chester, IL, the daughter of Ben and Florence (Holmes) Eggers. She married Anthony "Tony" Maes on November 22, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2003.
Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Kay (Curtis) Everding of Red Bud, IL, Toni (Kevin) Diercks of Chester, IL, Terri Ann (Terry) Hirte of Perryville, MO and Charlotte (Mike) Grider of Chester, IL. Two sons, Bradley Robert (Donna) Maes of Chester, IL and Scott Louis Maes of Starke, FL. One sister in law, Dot Eggers. 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two brothers and two sisters in law.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Friday, February 19, 2016 and from 7:30am to 9:30am Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
A funeral service for 85 year old Dorothy Maes will be held at 10am Saturday, February 20, 2016 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester, IL with Very Reverend Eguene H. Wojcik, V.F. and Father Allen Maes officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Association or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
