A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 for 82 year old Roland Samuel Hammel of Chester, IL who passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL.
Roland was born April 3, 1933 in Chester, IL, the son of Samuel and Matilda (Dietrich) Hammel. He married Phyllis Foster on June 14, 1952 in Chester, IL and she survives of Chester, IL.
Also surviving are three children, Rhonda Lindsey of Land O’Lakes, FL, Marvin Hammel of Willisville, IL and Mitch Hammel of Chester, IL. Three siblings, Neal "Chub" Hammel and Garlene Morrison both of Chester, IL and Maylene Cole of Westerville, OH. One sister in law, Betty Hammel of Chester, IL. 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Friday, July 10, 2015 and after 7:30am Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Funeral service for 82 year old Roland Hammel will be held at 11am Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, IL with Rev. Walter Lockhart officiating.
Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery just outside of Bremen, IL.
