Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, May 2, 2012 for 96 year old Odelia Dethrow of Chester, Il who passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center in Taylor Springs, IL.
Odelia was born January 5, 1916 in Belgique, MO, the daughter of James and Amelia (VanVoren) Kerkhover. She married Lester Dethrow on December 29, 1934 in Chester, IL and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Lester Dethrow of Bandera, TX and Gerald Dethrow of Columbia, MO. Two daughters, Edna Thompson of Jackson, MO and Gail Moranville of Hillsboro, IL. Two adopted daughters, Cheryl Bledsoe Dethrow of St. Pete’s, FL and Theresa Sumner Dethrow of Murphysboro, IL. One sister, Sadie Pahich of Lawson, MO. One adopted brother, Tom Venable of Ellis Grove, IL. 16 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and 11 step great-great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, five brothers, three sisters and three great grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Monday, April 30, 2012 and from 7:30am to 9:45am Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Funeral Mass for Odelia Dethrow will be at 10am Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester, IL with Father Gene Wojcik officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Chester, IL.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School in Chester or in the form of Masses.
