Blase Alfred Lyons
Blase Alfred Lyons passed away unexpectedly in Brighton, TN, November 16, 2009.
He was born May 27, 1961, in the Chester Hospital on George St. to Emily Bauman Lyons who survives in Chester, IL, and Alfred Joseph Lyons, deceased.
He grew up at Kaskaskia Island, IL, and graduated from the Kaskaskia Island Grade School in 1975, attended the Chester, IL, High School graduating in 1979. He graduated from Jefferson College, in Hillsboro, MO, in 1981, with an Associate Degree in Machine Tool Technology. He spent 27 years working in job shops as a Journeyman Machinist operating any and all machinery.
He was proficient in tearing down and rebuilding motorcycles. He especially liked the Harley Davidsons. He never heard a sad or needy story he didnít believe and tried to help, giving away many $ over the years.
He was a member of United Machinists & Aerospace Workers, Knights of Columbus, and Club of Independent Friends.
He is survived by his mother, one sister, Camille Lyons Matney (Michael), his loyal dog Zeus, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death are Maternal Grandparents Louis Wells Bauman and Veronica Schmerbauch Bauman of Kaskaskia Island, IL, and Paternal grandparents William Aloysius Lyons and Margaret McTeer Lyons of Augusta, GA.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 4:30 to 8 p.m. and 8 to 10:00 a.m. November 21, at the Basler Funeral Home, 17503 Hwy H, St. Mary, MO. With Reverend Richard Kasznel officiating, a mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church of Kaskaskia, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 21, and Internment will be at the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery, Kaskaskia.
Memorials may be made to the Kaskaskia Cemetery Fund, Cemetery Monument, or your choice.
