Gerald "Splinter" Seymour
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 18, 2007 for 77 year old Gerald
"Splinter" Seymour of Ellis Grove, IL who passed away Wednesday, August 15,
2007 at his residence.
He was born January 5, 1930 in Fort Gage, IL, the son of Henry and Millie
(Ennis) Seymour. He married Sylvia Parker on November 11, 1988 at Fort Gage,
IL and she survives of Ellis Grove, IL.
Also surviving are four children, Vicki Belford of New Haven, IL, Connie
Mahan of Corbin, KY, Michael Seymour and Daniel Seymour both of Ellis Grove,
IL. Four step children, Julie Eaton of Denton, TX, Matt Seymour of Dallas,
TX, Elizabeth Record of Plano, TX and Jonathan Seymour of Denton, TX. 17
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters,
three half brothers, three half sisters, one half brother and one great
He was the former Mayor of Ellis Grove and served two terms. During that
time, he was instrumental in the building of the new Ellis Grove Firehouse.
Friends are calling from 4pm to 8pm Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Welge
Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Funeral services for Gerald Splinter will be held on Saturday, August 18,
2007 at 10am from the First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove, IL with Rev.
Marvin "Bud" Bennett and Rev. Roger Reid officiating. Burial will be in the
Ellis Grove City Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Ellis
Grove City Cemetery Fund.
