Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 21, 2006 for 87 year old Velma Maes
of Chester, IL who passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Memorial Hospital
in Chester, IL.
She was born September 8, 1918 in Chester, IL, the daughter of John and
Sadie (Harmon) Shemonic. She married James Maes on July 21, 1937 in Chester,
IL and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Wingerter of Florissant, MO. Two
sisters, Lavern Hogan of Los Angeles, CA and Clara Bremer of Baldwin, IL.
Three brothers, Rudolph Shemonic of Perryville, MO and Elmer and Roger
Shemonic both of Steeleville, IL.
Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one brother
and one sister.
Friends are calling after 4pm Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Welge
Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Funeral Mass for Velma Maes will be Tuesday, January 21, 2006 at 10am
from St. Maryís Catholic Church in Chester, IL with Father Gene Wojcik and
Father Allen Maes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
