Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2005 for 81 year old Ruby Fortner of Chester, IL who passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL.

She was born September 14, 1923 in Boss, MO, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Radford0 Canady. She married Pete Fortner on March 13, 1942 in Perryville, MO and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Garry, Mike and Robbie Fortner all of Chester, IL. Two daughters, Betty Varner of Du Quoin, IL and Sharon Morgan of St. Mary, MO. Two sisters, Gladys Fortner and Mae Renner both of Chester, IL. One brother, Raymond Canady of Chester, IL. Six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one granddaughter and one daughter in law.

Friends are calling after 5pm Friday, July 8, 2005 at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, IL.

Funeral services for Ruby Fortner will be Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 11am from the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin, IL with Rev. Dennis Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, IL.
