Funeral services will be Monday, July 26, 2004 for 74-year-old Virginia Strickland of Chester, IL who passed away Friday, July 23, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was born August 3, 1929 in Sereno, MO, the daughter of Albert and Matilda (Brewer) Renner. She married Clarence "Bud" Strickland on November 29, 1947 in Chester, IL and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include seven brothers, Edmund, Vallie, August and Joe Renner all of Chester, IL; William Renner of Coulterville, IL; Raymond Renner of Evansville, IL and Floyd Renner of Sparta. Two sisters, Evelyn Nuyt of Perryville, MO and Pat Bohnert of Chester, IL. Two granddaughters and four great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends are calling after 5pm Sunday, July 25, 2004 at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, IL.

Funeral services for Virginia Strickland will be Monday, July 26, 2004 at 11am at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, IL with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, IL.

Memorials can be made in the form of Masses, to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to family choice.
