Funeral services will be Saturday, February 21, 2004 for 78 year old
Vernon Decker of Chester, IL who passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at
his home in Chester, IL.
Born July 13, 1925 in Chester, IL, the son of Adolph and Maria (Kipp)
Decker. He married Dorothy Jacobs on November 21, 1953 in Sparta, IL and she
survives of Chester, IL.
Also surviving are five daughters, Cindy Schumacher of Bristol, CT,
Marilyn Duensing of Chester, IL, Brenda Kirby of Steeleville, IL, Sharon
Auld of Centralia, IL and Zina Bachert of Calumet City, IL. One daughter in
law, Alice Decker of Chester, IL. Two brothers, Adolph Decker of Carlisle,
PA and Earl Decker of Wheatridge, CO. One sister, Velma Potter of Brenham,
TX. 16 grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one son in law, six
brothers and one sister.
Friends are calling after 4pm Friday, February 20, 2004 at the Schroeder
McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, IL.
Funeral services for Vernon Decker will be Saturday, February 21, 2004 at
St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, IL. Rev. Mark Willig and Rev. C. F.
Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends of Scouting.
