Funeral services will be Monday, April 14, 2003 for 81 year old Melba Yankey of Chester, IL who died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the Senior Manor Nursing Home in Sparta, IL.

She was born August 12, 1921 in Chester, IL, the daughter of Edward and Augusta (Novack) Cheslick. She married Jesse Yankey on September 24, 1941 in Chester, IL and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Crawford of Chester, IL. One son, Charles Yankey of St. Charles, MO. One sister, Delores Hornbostel of Chester, IL. One brother, Lucas Cheslick of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call after 4pm Sunday, April 13, 2003 at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, IL.

Funeral services for Melba Yankey will be Monday, April 14, 2003 at 11am at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, IL with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer and Rev. Phillip Keeton officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Chester, IL.
