Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2002 for 91-year-old
Lawrence Lipe of Chester, IL who died Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at Memorial
Hospital in Chester, IL.
Born June 8, 1910 in Carbondale, IL, the son of Jonathan and Victoria (Grammer)
Lipe. He married Berniece Fore on April 4, 1936 in Cairo, IL and she
survives of Chester, IL.
Also surviving are two sons, Verdon Lipe of Downingtown, PA and Larry
Lipe of Herrin, IL. One daughter, Janet Titus of Lake Oswego, OR. Six
grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call after 4pm Friday, January 4, 2002 at the Welge Pechacek
Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Funeral services for Lawrence Lipe will be Saturday, January 5, 2002 at
10am at the Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, IL with Rev. Marvin
"Bud" Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Lipe Cemetery in
Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Chester or
to the Lipe Cemetery in Carbondale.
Mr. Lipe was a former principal at Chester Grade School for 22 years.
