A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2001 for 87-year-old LaVerne Tindall of Chester who died Thursday, March 8, 2001 at St. Annís Healthcare Center in Chester, IL.

Born June 12, 1913 in Chester, IL, the daughter of Ervin and Elizabeth (Durkee) Bueckman. She married Roy Tindall on June 18, 1932 in Chester, IL and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include six sons, Monte, Tom and Mike all of Chester, IL; Robert and Richard both of St. Peterís MO and Ronald of Lake St. Louis, MO. One daughter, Betty Berger of North Webster, IN. One brother, Richard Bueckman of Lady Lake, FL. 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

There will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, IL at 2pm Saturday, March 10, 2001 with a Memorial Service to follow at Grace Church Ministries in Chester, IL with Ed Spiller officiating.

Memorials can be made to Grace Church Ministries or BMA of Randolph County.

The Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel of Chester, IL is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Tindall was a past president of Chester Grade School PTA, Mother of the Year in 1954 chosen by Chester High School Band & Chorus, President of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, President of Chesterís Womenís Club, President of Randolph County Womanís Club, Chosen Woman of the Year in 1987 by Chester Womanís Club, she served as Welcome Wagon Hostess for 16 years. She wrote for the Southern Illinoisan for several years and covered for AP & UPI the investigation by a legislative committee into conditions at Menard after the 1952 riots and served as 25th district chairman of Public Affairs.
