Funeral services will be Monday, April 16, 2001 for 85-year-old Ruth
Platt of Chester, IL who died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at St. Annís
Healthcare Center in Chester, IL.
Born October 5, 1915 in Lake City, IA, the daughter of August and Anna (Kuehnert)
Going. She married Luther Platt on September 3, 1939 in Enid, OK and he
survives of Chester, IL.
Also surviving are four sons, Dr. Jay Platt of Toronto, CA, Dr. Robert
Platt and Dr. Stephen Platt both of Chester, IL and David Platt of Park
City, UT. Four brothers, Robert, Eugene, Roger and Leland Going all of
Portland, OR. Three sisters, Dorothy Schroeder of Owasso, OK and Virginia
Tobin and Carolyn Jones both of Portland, OR. Nine grandchildren and five
great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call after 5pm Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the Welge Pechacek
Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
Funeral services for Ruth Platt will be Monday, April 16, 2001 at 1pm at
St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, IL with Rev Martin Springer and Rev.
Mark Willig officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church or
to Stephen Ministries.
