Funeral services were Monday, September 4, 2000 for 52-year-old Louise
Derringer of Rockwood, IL who died Friday, September 1, 2000 at Barnes
Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Born April 10, 1948 in St. Libory, IL, the daughter of Henry and
Josephine (Luecking) Averbeck. She married Larry Derringer on July 18,
1980 in Chester, IL and he survives of Rockwood, IL.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester and the
Chester High School Booster Club. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High
School in Belleville, IL, the Class of 1966.
Louise had a zest for life and fought to live everyday to the fullest.
Even though, cancer sometimes made this very difficult for her, she pushed
on and put forth her best effort daily.
Also surviving is her mother, Josephine Averbeck of St. Libory, IL.
Three sons, Jeff Derringer of Peoria, IL and Joe and Justin Derringer both
of Rockwood, IL. One daughter, Amanda Link of Peoria, IL. Five brothers,
James Averbeck and Mark Averbeck both of Belleville, IL, David and Donald
Averbeck both of Marissa, IL and Leon Averbeck of Lively Grove, IL. Two
sisters, Joan Derringer of Ellis Grove, IL and Brenda Greaney of Lively
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
Friends called at the Welge Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, IL.
The funeral mass for Louise Derringer was held Monday, September 4,
2000 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
