Funeral services will be Saturday, March 11, 2000 for 100-year-old Rose
Waltemate of Chester, who died Wednesday, March 8 at St. Annís
Healthcare Center in Chester.
Born September 16, 1899 in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of Henry
and Mary (Waldhoff) Luesse. She married Robert Niklich on May 4, 1921 in
Franklin, Indiana and he preceded her in death. She then married August
Waltemate on March 5, 1940 in Perryville, Missouri and he also preceded
her in death.
Survivors include one son, George Niklich of Belleville, IL. Two
daughters, Mary Tompkins of Plainville, CT and Dolores Waltemate of
Chester, IL. One brother, James Moore and Berkley, CA. 10 grandchildren,
27 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren also survive.
Her parents, husbands, two brothers and one sister preceded her in
Friends may call after 4pm Friday, March 10 at the Schroeder McClure
Funeral Chapel in Chester.
Funeral services for Rose Waltemate will be Saturday, March 11, 2000 at
11:00am at St. Peterís Lutheran Church in Wine Hill, IL with Rev. Edwin
Reuter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
