Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 28, 1999 for 82-year-old Verona Davitz of Chester who died Sunday at Three Springs Lodge nursing home in Chester.

Born August 21, 1916 in Chester, the daughter of August and Anna (Jany) Marcinkowska. She married Percy Davitz on September 24, 1936 in Chester and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include four sons, Fred of Chester, James of Freeburg, Gerald of Lithia Springs, Georgia and Ronald of French Village, Missouri. Two daughters, Marcella Stirnaman and Bonnie Todd both of Chester. Three brother, A.R. "Bud" Marcinkowska of Southhaven, Mississippi and Charles and Rodger Marcinkowska both of Chester. Two sisters, Bertha Mae Blechle of Chester and Betty Prost of Belleville. 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 4pm Tuesday at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester.

Funeral services for Verona Davitz will be Wednesday morning at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester with Father Charles Kribs officiating, burial will be in the church cemetery.
