Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 15, 1999 for 74 year old Wilbert Rahlfs of
Chester who died Sunday morning at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester.
Born July 11, 1924 in Chester, the son of Harry Sr. and Clara (Gentsch) Rahlfs. He
married Melma Niemeyer on September 7, 1957 in Steeleville and she survives of Chester.
Also surviving is one son, Kevin of Ellis Grove. One daughter, Tamara Juenger of
Chester. Six brothers, Elmer and Paul both of Chester, Clarence of Bremen, Earl of
Belleville, Roger of Villa Vista, Arkansas and Harry Jr. of Steeleville. Four sister,
Mildred Fehr of Baldwin, Edna Gielow of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Irma Dilday of Minooka, IL
and Doris Knoke of Chester. Three children also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call after 4pm this evening at the Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
Funeral services for Wilbert Rahlfs will be Tuesday morning at 11am at the Peace
Lutheran Church in Chester with Revs. Edwin Reuter and Kathryn Bielfeldt officiating,
burial will be in Paradise cemetery in steeleville.
Memorials can be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Chester.
Military Graveside services will be under auspices of Chester VFW Post #3553 and
American Legion Post #487.
