Shirley "Peck" Yankey
Funeral services will be Saturday for 69 year old Shirley "Peck" Yankey of
Chester who died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital in Chester.
Born October 31, 1929 in Rockwood, the son of Charles and Flora (Holley) Yankey. He
married June Mehrtens on July 3, 1950 in Chester and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Robert of Chapel Hill, TN, Michael and Ronnie both of
Ellis Grove. Six daughters, Joyce Surman, Kathy Caby and Tammy Renner all of Chester,
Bonny Branson of Fenton, Missouri, Christy Melliere of Prairie du Rocher, and Teri Davitz
of Ellis Grove. Two brothers, Roy Lee of St. Charles Missouri and William of Chester. Two
sisters, Rose Mercier of Freeport and Mary Lang of Chester. 21 grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and a nephew.
Friends may call after 5pm Friday at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester.
Funeral services for Shirley "Peck" Yankey will be Saturday afternoon at 1pm
at the Schroeder McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester with Rev. Mark Willig officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
