Percy man to be sentenced next year on felony charge

A Percy, IL man will be sentenced in February after pleading guilty to a weapons charge.

57 year old Michael Hall pled guilty to the offense of Unlawful Possession of Weapon by Felon before Judge Gene Gross in Randolph County court late last month.

Randolph County States Attorney Jeremy Walker reports a sentencing hearing has been set for February 15, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.

During the plea, Hall admitted to possessing a pistol in Percy on February 27, 2016, after having been convicted of a felony.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Percy Police Department handled the investigation in this matter.

"This offense is not eligible for probation and Mr. Hall will be required to go to DOC," said Walker. "The State will request a minimum sentence in February, as I am sure will the Defense. The thought process in setting sentencing that far down the road when we have a framework of the sentence in place, relates to the health of the Defendant. Mr. Hall appears to have some health issues we hope will resolve before going to DOC in February."
