May 12, 2008 Police investigate rash of break-ins From a news release STE. GENEVIEVE -- Police in Ste. Genevieve are investigating seven early morning break-ins in and near the Rozier Addition in Ste. Genevieve. Police say the break-ins happened mainly to vehicles left unlocking and parked outside residences in the neighborhoods, but in two instances, the thieves used garage door openers left in unlocked vehicles to gain access to garages. Among the items taken in the incidents were: a red and white Polaris 50cc ATV and a SUNL 50cc dirt bike. The first break in was reported around 5 a.m. Rozier and Cedar. While police were taking that report, other reports started to come in. Eventually seven separate break ins were reported: in the 400 block of Pine, the 600 block of Cedar Lane, the 400 block of Elm Street, the 400 block of Sycamore, the 500 block of Cedar Lane and also on nearby Chadwell Lane. |
