Rita R. (Hoog) Grein

A funeral will be held Monday, January 4, 2010 for 93-year-old Rita R. (Hoog) Grein of Sainte Genevieve who died Friday, January 1st, 2010 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 4, 1916, in Sainte Genevieve the daughter of Thomas Hoog and Emma (Bauman) Hoog

She married Walter Grein on April 23rd, 1941. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons: James (Barb) Grein of Houston, Texas, Robert (Susie) Grein of Ozora and Stan (Tamera) Grein of Sainte Genevieve; two daughters: Dorothy (Melvin) Bauman of River Aux Vases and Elaine (Jerry) Favier of Perryville; two brothers: Joseph Hoog of Sainte Genevieve and Henry Hoog of Zell; three sisters: Lucille Herzog of Coffman, Catherine Krussel of St. Louis and Marie Schweiss of Sainte Genevieve; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Leo Hoog and Karl Hoog and a sister: Theresa Weimer.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Sodality of Mary at Sts. Philip & James Church.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 at the Basler Funeral Home.

A funeral for 93-year-old Rita R. (Hoog) Grein of Sainte Genevieve will be held at the Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church in River aux Vases at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010. The Rev. Raymond Oge will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery

Memorials can be made to Masses or to a charity of choice
