‘Shop with a cop’ needs donations

Perry County Sheriff’s Department

PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Police Department, Perry County Sheriffs Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are working together for the seventh year to provide the local needy children with what they would like for Christmas.

Last year, the businesses in Perryville and Perry County dug deep into their pockets and helped raise money to allow over 117 children have a Merry Christmas. This year organizers are expecting well over that many children who need our help again.

"We want to make this a memorable Christmas for each one of these children," a spokesperson said. "We hope with the unstable economy we can continue to receive the financial support to provide this well needed program, and help make Christmas special for the less fortunate children of our community,"

Businesses and service organizations which would like to donate, should contact one of the following officers: Colleen Newland or Shay Morris of the Perry County Sheriffs Department, Garrett Schott of the Perryville Police Department.

Donations may be mailed to department with the officer's name on the front of the envelope. Those who wish to have their donation picked up may also call the department.

Please make all checks payable to Shop-with-a-Cop.
