Illinois man hurt in I-55 crash Missouri State Highway Patrol JEFFERSON CITY -- A 54-year-old Illiopolis, Illinois man suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash Friday evening on I-55 at the Cape Girardeau-Perry County line. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Rodney L. Gass was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by ambulance. The patrol says the crash happened when as northbound vehicles driven by 54-year-old Donna Phillips of Perryville and 19-year-old Samantha R. Carano of Fenton and 36-year-old Michael W. Lough of Oak Ridge slowed for a previous accident. Phillips car struck Carano's car in the rear, forcing it to strike Lough's pick up and Gass, who was a pedestrian. The crash happened about 6:04 p.m. The patrol says all three drivers were unhurt and were buckled up. |
