ALTENBURG -- The "Go4Ag! Scavenger Hunt" activity promises to be an exciting event this year at the East Perry County Fair in Altenburg September 25-26.

The event, sponsored by the Perry County Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Department and Perry County 4-H, provides all boys and girls (and adults) an opportunity to learn about agriculture as they enjoy the sights and sounds of agriculture exhibits and livestock.

Youth participating in the scavenger hunt activity will learn about products made from Missouri commodities while viewing displays.

This is how it works! Youth (and adults) can pick up worksheets on the Fairgrounds at the Perry County Farm Bureau booth. The worksheets contain agricultural questions. As families tour the fair exhibits, they will find specially placed posters containing helpful information to complete the worksheet. Once completed, the worksheet should be returned to the starting location, where youth completing the scavenger hunt activity will be rewarded for their efforts.

The goal of the project is to help students gain a better understanding of agriculture and its importance to Missouri.
